Personal Skill Set

A discussion about self care and how it is not a selfish act but an act of self preservation, and healing so that we can focus more fully on those we love.

A Time for Hygge

Hygge is all about self-care, and carving out some ‘me time’. There is something I used to do with my clients. We would create a ‘self-soothing kit’, which could include such things as scented candles, coloring, books to read, a journal, your favorite candy (shelf stable), calming music, knitting, and other things that bring you joy, peace and calm. Because that’s exactly what hygge involves, creating a space of healing, joy, peace and calm in the whirlwind that is your life.

Contemplation Corner

“Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.”
